Welcome back book club members. I gave you a couple of extra days, but now it is time to chat about our most recent book "The Ex Files" by Victoria Christopher Murray.
Let's begin by getting your initial comments on the book and the characters. I had a hard time getting started with the book because I had to get to know so many characters, but once I got started I could not stop. Honestly, I was a little disappointed with how the story ended, but I guess that just leaves room for a sequel.

This is my first time reading a book by Victoria Christopher Murray. The format and number of characters made it take longer than normal for me to feel comfortable without using the back cover for reference. :) However, I did enjoy the book. The ending lacked real closure. Since this is my first book by Murray, I not sure if this is normal...the “left your imagination take it from here” type of ending. I am looking forward to discussing the characters.
I am always hesitant about reading books by "unknown" authors; however, I am glad we took the chance. I agree it was overwhelming initially to set up each character coupled with the ancillary characters in the book. Fortunately once you acclimated yourself with the characters the novel flowed well. I could not put it down. I was anxious to know what crazy Asia and stubborn Kendall would do next. The end did not appeal to me either--I wanted more details; but I guess VCM didn't want to be overzealous with the information. To sum it all up in one quick chapter was sufficient. Can't wait to start discussing each character and the overall tone of the book.
